New Year's Resolution

So, today I was talking to my friend Cory about lots of things, and as I was bantering on about my floss collection (yeah, I have been known to arrive late at dinner for getting lost track of time while organizing my yarn collection... *ahem*), I started to click some buttons on my computer's calculator about how long I'm estimating it will take to complete my next project.

Well, making some biiig assumptions like how many stitches a minute I will complete and a ridiculous time commitment per DAY of 15 minutes. (I read about this on someone's blog as an "I don't have time to stitch with everything going on so I set the timer to 15 minutes and do as much as I can in that time and put it down when the timer is up." The days came out to be 283 or so.. With my obvious lack of time and skills in the ways of getting enough sleep, I project that my goal should be a little further back. So why not make a goal to have my project finished by Christmas next year? Valid life choice, I thought to myself, as my RA likes to say.

Photo above is the pattern I will be starting eventually. In time I will post some photos of my progress, but at the moment I'm finishing up some other projects and getting ready for Winter Quarter at school. Every day I will try to block out just 15 minutes to work, or maybe this can be something I do every time American Idol comes on and everyone is watching it in the TV Lounge! Getting into a routine will be the hardest part, as I fail utterly at that.

First Post!

This is my blog dedicated to projects. Most of my projects are textile related.. like cross stitch, knitting, quilting, and whatever else I decided I wanted to make! Now I also have the whole college thing to keep people up-to-date on, and that has introduced me to new distracting projects like every medium possible in the design world. Fantastic! Maybe if I get people to read this I'll be more motivated to keep my craft-ADD under control and finish some things. Hope you all enjoy! Maybe I can even convince people that they should take up cross stitch, because I'm that much of a trend-setter.
